Lake of Isles Announces Junior Golf Scholarship Winners

Eleven Scholarships Awarded To Area Golfers

NORTH STONINGTON, CONN., May 16, 2011 - Lake of Isles and the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation announced today the 2011 Junior Golf Scholarship Program recipients.

2011 Junior Golf Scholarship Winners:
Michael Ford ,16 - Cheshire, Conn.

Vivek Tedla, 14 - Newtown, Conn.

Thomas Labbe, 13 - Watertown, Conn.

Frankie Lee, 14 - Norwich, Conn.

Spencer Salvas, 14 - Putnam, Conn.

Eric Austin, 15 - Northford, Conn.

Sadie Martinez, 16 - Hartford, Conn.

Daniel "Finn" Boynton, 11 - Milford, Conn.
Melissa Iczkowski, 13 - Southwick, Mass.

Roger Allen III, 13 - Ledyard, Conn.
Justin Carter, Jr.,12 – Mashantucket, Conn.

Applicants were evaluated on character, integrity, passion and their potential for success at a highly competitive level.

The scholarship recipients will receive the following:

Ø Weekly practice and training sessions with a Lake of Isles Golf Academy instructor.

Ø Complimentary “standby” playing privileges on Lake of Isles North Course and reduced fees for accompanied adult guests.

Ø Unlimited use of the Lake of Isles practice facility.

Ø Lake of Isles golf bag, golf balls, polo shirt, windshirt and cap.

“We would like to thank all the applicants for their interest in the junior scholarship program,” said Archie Cart, general manager, Lake of Isles. “It is very encouraging for the growth of the game to see the interest among juniors in the sport and their desire to play at a competitive level. The recipients will begin their practice session May 22 and continue through September 30, 2011.
